Building Trades

In the Building Trades classroom we teach the skills necessary to be successful in a work environment. Tool recognition and shop safety are key components in our classroom. In addition, workplace social skills such as teamwork and responsibility are taught. Skills are taught through a series of woodworking and home improvement projects. The Building Trades classroom provides students with hands-on experience, professional instruction and consistent support. With close supervision the students learn to use power tools such as cordless drills, hole-saws, jigsaws and palm sanders. The hand tools we use include saws, screwdrivers, hammers, clamps, pliers, wrenches and sandpaper.
